Cattle die of mysterious disease
The cattle at Kamalakhach area of Sindhuli district are dying due to Charchare disease. Within a week about seven cattles have died and other 25 are found to have been affected from the disease, say some local farmers.
According to Chet Prasad Bhatarai, a local vet working at Shirthauli Village Development Committee (VDC) Ward No 2, the disease is slowly spreading through Shirthauli, Hatpate, Nipane, Harsahi, Lampantar, Jadayotar, Aambote and Jinakhu VDCs located in the hilly region. “As soon as I got a message about the disease, I went to the places and did whatever I could for the treatment of the cattle,” he added.
Generally the cattle suffering from the disease rub their hooves against the ground and refuse to eat anything. They are frequently found to have been suffering from fever and in case they are not treated within a week, they die immediately, some doctors point out as the symptoms of the disease.
