CC poll deferred till Aug 28
KATHMANDU: The Constituent Assembly on Sunday postponed the election for CA’s Constitutional Committee chairman till
August 28. The postponement was made in order to buy time for finding a consensus candidate. Earlier, the election was slated for
Monday. The CA Business Advisory
Committee, which is represented by all parties in the CA, had recommended CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang to postpone the election. On Saturday, the three major parties had agreed to postpone the election. The post has been lying vacant for nearly three months after the then chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal was elected as Prime Minister on May 23. — HNS
