CJ Parajuli stresses ensuring speedy justice at local levels

Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli today said if the local level judiciary committees did not provide speedy justice to the people, they would lose their relevance.
Inaugurating a two-day interaction programme organised by Supreme Court in Dhulikhel, Kavre, today, CJ Parajuli said, “The committees will lose their relevance if they do not ensure justice to the victims.”
CJ Parajuli stressed on ensuring speedy justice to the marginalised, oppressed and under privileged communities. He said even if the committee officials were elected from various political forces, they should be responsible and sincere towards people not parties. “We must develop a culture of abiding by the law as elected representatives need to take fair decisions,” said CJ Parajuli.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Basanta Ram Bhandari underscored the necessity of fair, efficient and speedy justice delivery. Former CJ Kedar Nath Upadhyay also attended the interaction.
A total of 51 local level judiciary committee officials of Kavre, Sindhuli, Dolakha and Ramechhap, among other districts, were present at the programme.
