ILAM: A nine-year-old boy drowned while swimming in the Mai River in Ilam on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Samir Tamang, son of Dawa Tamang of Tilkeni, Ilam Municipality – 6.

Police and the family members started searching for him after he did not return home till late evening, Inspector Rudra Chudal said,

The body has been handed over to the family members after conduction postmortem, Chudal added.
