Child injured, seven houses gutted in Rolpa fire
ROLPA: A child was injured and property worth around Rs 2 million were destroyed in a blaze that burnt down seven houses in Suwarnawati Rural Municipality-1 of Rolpa district on Saturday.
According to police, the fire destroyed the houses belonging to Narendra Pun, Narima Gharti, Man Bahadur Pun, Kishor Garti, Amar Gharti, and Pabi Gharti, along with the foods, clothes and properties housed inside and partially destroyed the house of Krishna Bahadur Gharti.
The five-year-old Ayush Pun, son of Narendra Pun was injured in the fire, that burnt more than half a dozen cattle, said police.
It has been learnt that Ayush is undergoing treatment in the local health facilities.
Police are investigating into the case and have yet to establish the cause of the fire.
The fire was doused with the collective effort of police, locals and office bearers of the disaster management committee at community level.
Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Committee has distributed sugar and beaten rice to the fire victims in immediate relief.
