KATHMANDU: A two-year-old child died after being hit by a pick-up van in Laukahi of Sunsari district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Mahadev Mandal, son of Hari Chandra Mandal.

According to the Area Police Office, Laukahi, the van (Ko 1 Cha 7156) hit the child at around 5 am today.

The child breathed his last on the way to a hospital.

Police said that they have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for investigation.
