Chinese delegation meets Prachanda
KATHMANDU: A 10-member high-level delegation led by Hao Peng, executive deputy director of Tibetan Autonomous Region, arrived in Kathmandu for a five-day long goodwill visit, today.
The delegation called on UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at his residence in Naya Bazaar.
According to Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’, vice-chairman of the party, the Chinese delegation lauded Nepal’s effort in curbing anti-Chinese activities in the country.
“We assured the delegation that our party was always committed to one-China policy. We also asked them about the important role of China in the development of Nepal,” he said.
The Chinese team also met foreign secretary Madan Kumar Bhattarai and discussed bilateral relations and other issues.
