KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5

One person was stabbed to death and another was seriously injured in a brawl among three Chinese nationals in the busy market area of Indrachowk in broad daylight today.

Indrachowk witnessed a violent incident today at around 11:00am when a brutal fight broke out among three Chinese nationals. A security person, quoting an eyewitness, said the fight was no less than a movie scene.

Police said that although the reason behind the brawl was not clear they suspected that the Chinese nationals were members of gangs operating from Kathmandu. According to police, a quarrel had escalated into a fist fight.

"One among the three who were involved the fighting, used a knife to stab the other two Chinese nationals. The man had stabbed the chest and stomach multiple times, which eventually took the life of one while the other person was seriously injured. The injured is undergoing treatment at the nearby Trauma Centre,"

Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali told THT.

The deceased has been identified as Gan Sausing, 29, while the seriously injured person is 32-year-old Li Chuwan.

Fung Changyun, 37, who stabbed the other two has been taken under police custody.

Chuwan suffered injuries in the stomach and is unable to speak as of now, as per police, while Sausing was stabbed in the head, chest, and stomach.

Janasewa Sector Office of New Road rescued the injured.

Police said the reasons behind the gruesome attack would be ascertained after investigation.
