Chitwan elephant kills Indian tourist
CHITWAN: An Indian tourist was killed in a wild elephant attack in Sauraha of Chitwan district on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Sneha Kanpara was attacked by the tusker at the Elephant Breeding Centre, according to the District Police Office.
Kanpara was on a tour to Chitwan with her family.
Seriously injured in the attack, Kanpara was rushed to the Bharatpur-based Chitwan Medical College, which declared her dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, other members of the Kanpara family managed to save themselves from the attack, police said.
Wild elephants from the Chitwan National Park are regularly brought to the Breeding Centre for mating.
