CHITWAN: Property worth around Rs 1.5 million was gutted when two hotels in Kalika Municipality-9 engulfed in flames in Chitwan district today.

According to Jutpani-based police post, fire started from the kitchen of hotel run by local Radhika Saru Magar and spread to another hotel run by Rama Devi Rai, at around 8:00 am.

Both hotels were in the same building belonging to Thakur Chepang.

According to police, utensils, cash, food stuffs and clothes among other valuables were gutted in the blaze that completely destroyed the house.

Police with the help of locals contained the fire in two hours.
