CIAA charges Bara, Parsa teachers with forgery

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed separate cases at the Special Court against two schoolteachers of Bara and Parsa districts.

The anti-corruption constitutional body moved the court against Bal Kumari Basnet of Bal Jyoti Primary School in Dumarwana-6 of Bara and Rajesh Prasad Kurmi of Nepal Rastriya Lower Secondary School in Gardaul of Parsa.

The Commission has claimed that Basnet had submitted a fake temporary teaching licence of primary level to get the job under the relief quota.

Likewise, Kurmi also submitted a fake permanent teaching licence of primary level to get the similar job, according to the CIAA.

A High School certificate he submitted claiming it was issued from the Bihar School Examination Board of India was also proved to be fake in the CIAA investigation.

Action has been sought against both of them as per Section 16.1 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
