CIAA grills Health Ministry for irregularities

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has begun investigation into transfer of staffs in the Ministry of Health and Population, recently.

"We have seized the file on the decision taken by the ministry for further investigation," Lalit Bahadur Limbu, Acting Chief Commissioner of CIAA, said.

The anti-graft body had received a flurry of complaints concerning irregularities in the transfer of staffers. Accusing the move as 'illegal' more than hundred staffers had lodged their complaints with the CIAA.

Meanwhile, in another instance, the CIAA has sought an explanation from then administrator of Guthi Sansthan for his alleged involvement in transferring public property to individuals.

The anti-graft body has asked him to furnish a reply as to why he was not barred from holding the position.
