Charikot, August 29:

At least 36 people were injured, some of them critically, in a clash that ensued during a celebration of the Janai Purnima festival at the Bigu monastery in Dolakha last night, locals said. They were injured when a gang of six drunken persons, including Datasi Sherpa of Bigu VDC-7, beat them up indiscriminately.

The gang also vandalised nine local shops, the local residents said. The police are investigating the incident, Inspector at the DPO Chandra Rajbanshi said.
