Clash in Palpa, phones dead

Palpa, July 13:
A clash is going on in Palpa since last Friday, and search operations by unified security forces against the Maoists in rural areas are continuing.
Meanwhile, telephone lines in the district are on the blink since day before yesterday. There were 1900 telephone lines in the district. According to the Western division in Pokhara of the
Royal Nepalese Army, troops from the Army Company, Tansen, 22 number Army brigade, Butwal and the newly-established company of Rampur are engaged in the search operations.
“There was firing in the southern part of Palpa district between the Maoists and security forces,” locals said.
An army man was injured in the clash. Security sources said at least four Maoists were killed in Humin and Tahu areas.
