Clash in Shyanja injures two

SYNGJA: Two persons were injured when two groups clashed at Dewanchowk Putalibar-5 on Friday afternoon. The clash ensued following a dispute regarding a tender issue on Dahathum Irrigation project. The injured are Sandip Devkota of Gorkha and Indra Bahadur Sen, the police said, adding that the two were undergoing treatment in Western Regional hospital and District Hospital Shyangja respectively.

According to DSP Gopal Bahadur Rayamajhi, the clash ensued when a group of up to fifty to sixty people collectively from Kathmandu, Kavre, Gorkha and Pokhara who had come in motorcycles and a car started to attack the local youths. They fled the scene leaving six motorcycles and a car which are now under the police control, the police said. The police also found two rounds of bullets in the car. Injured Sen informed the police that he had reached there after Krishna Gurung of Balaju and Ram Gurung of Shyangja had informed him about the tender worth of Rs 2 crores. Police informed that search for the culprits was underway.
