Classes halted due to incessant rain
KHOTANG: Three schools in the district have been shut down following incessant rainfall for the past few days.
Classes were halted after storms blew away the roofs of school buildings.
Jungdev Primary School of Chhitapokhari-4, Singha Devi Primary School of Dandagaun and Panchakanya Primary School of Halesi were running classes in open spaces.
However, they were forced to discontinue regular classes due to incessant rainfall for a week.
"We were conducting classes for grade II, III and V in open space for over a month now, but we had to halt the classes due to heavy rains," Rabi Narayan Shrestha, headmaster of Jungdev Primary School said.
Ram Kumar Rai, headmaster of Panchakanya Primary School, said, "Though we appealed to the administration, no help has come by so far."
As many as 110 students are enrolled in the school, he added.
