Clean-up campaign organised

The Nationwide Clean-up Campaign was organised today in 31 districts with participation of over 24,000 people throughout the country.
The slogan of the campaign was ‘our waste, our responsibility’. The nationwide clean-up campaign was facilitated by Clean up Nepal and supported by the Australian Embassy in Nepal.
A press release issued by the organiser said clean-ups were held with support from its national partners such as Nepal Red Cross Society, Rotaract Nepal, Keep Itahari Clean, Nepal Friendship Society, Let’s Do it World, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action, SOS Children Villages, Keep Bhaktapur Clean, Scientology Volunteer Ministers, and other local and district partners.
The clean-up initiation programme was held centrally at Bouddha where 700 individuals participated to clean Bouddha area. There was active participation from Boudha Community Police, KMC Ward 6 officials, Australian Embassy, Clean-up Boudha and others who went cleaning and rallying around the stupa urging vendors to keep the surroundings clean, it informed.
The essence of the clean-up day is to provide individuals, communities and organisations a unified platform to clean up streets, rivers and public spaces to improve their immediate environment through positive action and increased awareness.
