Dhankuta, July 2

The CPN-UML won all mayoral and deputy mayoral posts in the seven local levels of Dhankuta district.

There are three municipalities and four rural municipalities in the district. Of the 60 wards, the UML clinched victory of 42 ward chairman posts.

Chintan Tamang, the mayoral candidate and Sakuntala Basnet, the deputy mayoral candidate, won in Dhankuta Municipality.

Similarly, Birkha Bahadur Rai and Dev Kala Poudel (Timsina) were elected as mayor and deputy mayor respectively in Pakhribas Municipality.

Parshu Ram Nepal and Manju Adhikari won the post of mayor and deputy mayor respectively in Mahalaxmi Municipality; Manoj Rai, Khajindra Rai, Sher Bahadur Limbu and Kumar Jung Yakha won the posts of chairman in Khalsa Chhintang Sadhidbhumi, Chaubise, Chhathar Jorpati and Sangurigadi rural municipalities respectively. Ratnaswori Rai, Yagya Kumari Ruchal, Bhimkala Shrestha and Bindra Rai were elected vice-chairs from the rural municipalities respectively.
