CNP hotels reopen after 7 months

HAURAHA: Hotels situated inside Chitwan National Park (CNP) have reopened after seven months on Sunday.

The renowned jungle hotels -Temple Tiger, Chitwan Jungle Lodge, Narayani Safari and Iceland Jungle Resort -- were closed after their licenses were not renewed, but the government eventually granted them permission to operate with an eye on the upcoming Tourism Year 2011.

According to the CNP, the four hotels have already paid conservation fees and revenue. However, three hotels inside the park still remain closed as they have not paid the revenue and conservation fees. Hotels had been set up in 1994 B.S. under 16-year contract. The hotels provide employment to more than 1,300 people.
