RAJBIRAJ: Temperature has plummeted in Saptari in the past three days making everyday life difficult. Despite harsh weather, students are forced to sit on classroom floor to study due to lack of desks and benches in BP National Primary School in Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality in Saptari.

Twenty-One students below 5 years of age attending child development class on Monday were sitting on the cold floor covered only with sacks. Due to lack of budget, it has not been possible to acquire classroom essentials such as desks, benches and carpet.

“Although we have requested support from authorities numerous times, the situation has not changed," School Principal Surendra Prasad Mandal lamented," We are facing lack of funds and children have suffered."
