KATHMANDU, JULY 6
The 9th edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) is set to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from September 19 to 20. This marks a return to the island nation for one of the region's most prestigious travel and hospitality accolades.
According to SATA, the 2025 edition will bring together tourism leaders, stakeholders, and innovators from across South Asia to celebrate excellence in the travel and hospitality industry. The Gala Ceremony will be held in Colombo, featuring awards across multiple categories.
SATA 2025 has received over 200 nominations from six South Asian countries this year, highlighting a wide range of properties and service providers in the tourism sector.
Launched in 2016, SATA has previously been hosted in Mount Lavinia, Galle City, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Addu City, Kathmandu, and Malé Atoll. The awards continue to grow in regional prestige and participation.
The initiative is endorsed by over 18 national and regional tourism bodies, including the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), and The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL).
The eighth edition of the South Asian Travel Award (SATA) was held in Kathmandu in 2024.
