Commission to end Tarai woes in two weeks: Khanal

Siraha, November 20:

CPN-UML general secretary Jhalanath Khanal said ‘One Madhes One Pradesh’ was against the Madhesi people and he would never let it take effect. He was addressing Sagarmatha zonal activists’ training assembly of CPN-UML in Lahan today.

Speaking at the programme, he said the talks team had been given four responsibilities of making contact with armed groups, organising the talks in a political way, bringing the armed outfits into the mainstream politics and reaching appropriate agreement with them.

The UML boss also accused the Maoists and the NC of harbouring extremist thoughts and speaking against the norms of seven-point-charter of demands.

He said a national restructuring commission would be formed within two weeks to establish peace and security in the Tarai and added that an act to carve out states would be formulated soon.
