Unification soon, says Dahal
Kavre, February 1
CPN-MC chairperson and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the proposed unification between his party and the CPN-UML was imminent.
Speaking at a programme organised in Mahabharat Rural Municipality, Kavre, to felicitate winners of the provincial and parliamentary elections today, the Maoist chief said, “As meetings are happening back to back at both the inter and intra-party levels, it won’t be long before the parties are united.”
He, however, fell short of revealing whether the unification would precede or follow formation of the new government.
Further, accusing some reactionary forces of conspiring to thwart the unification between the two large communist parties, Dahal argued that plotting against the unification was tantamount to stalling the country’s prosperity. “The country has failed to see the much-sought prosperity this long understandably for want of a stable government, so there is nothing wrong when the two large communist parties come forward to provide the country a stable government through unification,” he reasoned.
