Conclusion of local polls raises people's faith in constitution
BIRATNAGAR: The Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has taken 'peaceful' conclusion of the local elections as great achievements of the government, which she said has raised people's faith in the new constitution.
As a result, instability of the country has almost ended, she said while speaking to media-persons at Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Foundation in Biratnagar on Sunday.
Saying peace and development is people's aspiration, she stressed the need for holding the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies slated for November 26 and December 7 in a fear-free and impartial way.
On criteria for providing election ticket, she suggested picking poll candidate from among cadres who have risen above party groupism.
Referring to reports that have surfaced of using money to woo voters in the local polls, she urged the Election Commission to be serious about it, and take a concrete step.
