Constituent assembly a ‘must’

Palpa, January 12:

A leading figure in civic society’s movement, Dr Devendraraj Pandey has described the 12-point pact between the political parties and Maoists as “unclear”. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union Palpa chapter at Tansen, he emphasised the need to make the pact comprehensible.

Stating that civic society’s need was a constituent assembly, Dr Pandey said it was necessary to bring people to a one-point accord based on the agenda of democracy.

Replying to a query that the parties’ stir may end anytime, he said, “Our joint stir will move ahead as a one-point agenda.”
