Construction work resumes in Lamjung
Lamjung, June 6
Lamjung Sapana-Jayababa JV has started constructing a bridge, which it had left in a lurch for many years after the government decided to take action against contractors delaying work without reason.
Following the directive of the government, District Administration Office, Lamjung, is all set to arrest contractors who had left their projects incomplete. Construction of the bridge over Dordikhola resumed in Dordi Rural Municipality. The contractors had left the construction work seven years ago. Sapana-Jayababa JV had received the responsibility of constructing a bridge with Rs four crore. Lamjung Division Road Office, the local government, the Parliament and locals had directed the contractor time and again to complete the work. But, the company did not heed their request. The foundation stone laying ceremony was carried out in 2011 and the project had to be completed in two years. But the construction work is still incomplete.
Similarly, Adhikari Construction Service, Gorkha, has also started construction work of the bridge over Borangkhola of Rainas Municipality. The company had received the contract to build the bridge last year.
Lamjung Chief District Officer Jhakanath Dhakal said the contractor companies had started work with the commitment to complete the remaining work on time.
