Consumables seized for customs duty evasion
RAJBIRAJ: A patrol team of Saptari-based Armed Police Force confiscated daily consumables worth Rs 300,000 that were being transported from India without paying customs duty, on Friday.
The grocery items including cooking oil, dried tea leaves and spicy noodles (bhujiya) among others were seized from the Koshi Barrage Check Post.
According to the APF Border Security Office, Rajbiraj, the commodities were handed to Sunsari Customs Office for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a joint team deployed from APF, Nepal Police and Customs Office has seized goods worth Rs 300,000 from the district on Thursday.
Goods including dolls, shoes, and food items were confiscated by the team, said Saptari Customs office.
Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been actively involved in controlling smuggling of goods for the past few days.
