DHANGADI, AUGUST 1
It has come to light that the murder of Manju Rawal of Kailali's Lamkichuha Municipality about two months ago was part of a premeditated plan. According to District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Kuldeep Chand, Goma Rawal of Lamkichuha Municipality is learnt to have hired a contract killer to kill Manju, who was her husband's second wife, following her abortive attempt to grab a land plot in her name.
Police, citing their investigation, said Goma had hatched a plan to finish off her husband Janak Rawal's second wife from India.
To execute the murder, 27-year-old Jabbar Rawal and Sarita Rawal, 37, of Toli in Panchadeval Binayak Municipality, Achham, were paid 500,000 rupees. While police found the victim's body on the basis of the inputs of one of the hired killers, Sarita, who was arrested in the wake of the murder, she also revealed that they had only got Rs 40,000 despite the Rs 500,000 deal for executing the murder.
Having left home on June 8, her son Bibek, five days later, had applied to the police seeking help to search for his mother. Her body, cut into pieces, was recovered from a bamboo grove in Mohanyal Rural Municipality of Kailali on Sunday. Police have also arrested Goma, along with her daughter and others. The second contract killer Jabbar is at large. He is said to be in India.
Police investigation has revealed that the contract killers had convinced the victim to approach them on assurance that they would help her settle a court case.
