BHOJPUR: Due to the ongoing protests in various parts of Tarai region, eastern hilly district, Bhojpur, has been reeling under acute shortage of cooking gas.

According to businesspersons, along with the protests, the unofficial blockade imposed by India has also contributed to the situation.

The locals are also complaining that their lives have been severely affected owing to the crunch.

Sita Karki, a local, shared that the use of firewood has significantly increased in the area, adding, the shortage of firewood has further added to the woes of locals.

A local businessman, Badri Shrestha, lamented that they were unable to fulfill the demand of the people.
