Cooperation stressed

KATHMANDU: Laos President Choummaly Soyasone on Thursday stated that Nepal and his country should work together in major international forums such as United Nations to defend the rights of small and landlocked countries.

Receiving the Letter of Credence from non-resident Ambassador of Nepal to Laos, Khaga Nath Adhikari in Vientiane, Soyasone said Nepal and Laos enjoy traditionally good and friendly relationship.

He underscored that the two nations should also promote bilateral relations in areas such as trade and investment, tourism, agriculture etc. Adhikari is Nepal’s resident Ambassador to Thailand and concurrently looks after Laos as well.

Like Nepal, the Southeast Asian country is landlocked. The Laotian president also briefed Adhikari about achievements made by Laos in recent decades.
