Corrupt officers will not be spared: CIAA chief

Pokhara, October 11

Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Nabin Kumar Ghimire today pledged to keep the anti-graft body’s work free of political influence.

Speaking at an interaction organised by Civil Society Kaski in Pokhara, Chief Commissioner Ghimire pledged not to spare the corrupt whether big or small.

Ghimire clarified that CIAA was free of political and government pressure and functioned independently. “Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has asked me to act tough against corruption and the CIAA is committed to reducing corruption by abiding by its jurisdiction,” he added.

Ghimire also said that the Department of Money Laundering Investigation should come under the CIAA’s fold.
