KANCHANPUR: A fire at a cotton industry has inflicted a loss of more than Rs 600,000 in Chabanni Bazaar of Beldandi Rural Municipality-2 in Kanchanpur district on Thursday.

The fire at the industry owned by Bir Bahadur Mali destroyed supply — ready materials including cotton, quilt and mattresses, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyan Bahadur Seti at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Police with the help of local residents contained the fire.
