INARUWA: A couple died as a motorcycle collided with a van collision in Madhesa-4 of Sunsari district, along the East-West highway on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Ali Hussein of Lohajara-8 in Saptari district and his wife Noorjahan Khatun, according to the Sunsari District Police Office.

The accident is said to have taken place when the motorcycle (Sa 3 Pa 1187) heading towards east from west collided with a van (Sa 1 Ja 338) coming from the opposite direction.

Hussein died on the spot while Khatun breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police have impounded the van and taken the driver in custody for further investigation, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Binod Ghimire.
