Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 621,056 on Sunday with 1,421 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
The highest single-day total logged in Nepal was on May 11, where 9317 infections were logged.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 556,798 with 3,456 discharges recorded today.
In the past 24 hours, 51 more Covid-related fatalities were logged, taking the total death toll to 8,726.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 10,926 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,677 were PCR tests while 4,249 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,262,589 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 1,021 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests add up to 2,442.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 89.6 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.5 %.
The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 55,532 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.
In the same time frame, 450 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 73 and 25 cases respectively.
So far, a total of 3,231,849 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,500,196 have received the first dose while only 731,653 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 619,635 with 1,688 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 178 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 163 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
