The number of COVID cases has been going up in the district of late. In the last 24 hours, out of 103 people, who underwent COVID test, 20 were diagnosed with the virus, according to District Health Office, Kavre.
Five people tested positive for the virus yesterday. Out of 13 local levels in the district, COVID cases have been confirmed in seven local levels. Of these, the highest number of infections has been reported in Dhulikhel Municipality with 26 new infections including 13 women.
In the last 24 hours, eight infected people have recovered.
Head of the office Dr Purushottam Sedai said that one infected person each was undergoing treatment in isolation in Panchkhaal Municipality and Bethanchowk Rural Municipality.
Considering the increasing rate of infection, the scope of testing will be expanded in the district. Similarly, there are four active cases of COV- ID-19 in Namobuddha, four in Banepa Municipality and one in Mahabharat Rural Municipality. Currently, there are 42 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.
In a period of about two years and five months, 17,629 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the district. Among them, 195 have succumbed to the virus.
