CPN cadres held with weapons
Rautahat, August 1
Police arrested three cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal for their involvement in setting ablaze Ward No 3 office of Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, today.
The arrested have been identified as Ram Bahadur Ghising, 30, Man Bahadur Waiba, 35, and Reb Prasad Mainali, 45, of the municipality. Police also made public the arrestes at a press meet organised in ChandrapurArea Police Office, today.
DSP Kabi Katwal of Chandrapur Area Police Office said the arrested were involved in setting the office on fire on the eve of the CPN-called Nepal bandh yesterday. He added that the accused were arrested from their homes for their involvement in unwanted activities.
Katwal said two pistols and eight rounds of bullets were seized from Ghising’s house. Police also seized one bullet, two pieces of socket pipes and some documents from Mainali’s house. He said the three were longtime CPN cadres and were involved in setting ablaze an Ncell tower at Gaindatar.
Katwal said they also had obstructed vehicular movement by felling down trees along the East-West Highway section on April 19. He said action would be taken against the arrested.
