CPN-M, RPP-N participate in suggestions programme

Bajura, July 21

Though the leaders and cadres of CPN-Maoist and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal boycotted the feedback collection sessions on the draft statute elsewhere, the scene was different in Bajura.

According to Chief District Officer Dhan Prasad Sharma, both the parties took part in the feedback collection programmes on the draft constitution in the district from yesterday.

“The sessions were very fruitful here as even CPN-Maoist district in-charge Bharat Budha or RPP-N district member Kanta Bahadur Shahi, both of whom represented the dissenting parties, took part in the programme,” said CPN-UML politburo member and Constituent Assembly member Karna Bahadur Thapa.

While Maoist leader Budha suggested the statute should be drafted as per the people’s wishes rather than whims of some political parties, the RPP-N leader called for early promulgation of statute and sought Hindu state identity.
