Australian Ambassador calls on Maoist Chairman Dahal
KATHMANDU: The CPN Maoist Centre chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Glenn White, held a meeting in the Capital on Tuesday.
During the meeting held at Dahal's residence at Lazimpat, the duo discussed latest political developments in Nepal and the implementation of Constitution.
On the occasion, Dahal underlined the importance of a national unity government to complete the peace process, address the demands of the Madhes-based parties and expedite post-earthquake reconstruction works.
The Australian Ambassador inquired about the cancellation of Dahal's Australia visit, to which Dahal explained that he could not go to Australia due to the political situation of the country.
He further stated that he was occupied with party works at that time.
Dahal told White he would visit Australia soon, according to the Maoist chairman's secretariat.
Dahal also thanked the Australian government for its cooperation in the post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal.
