CHITWAN: Of the seven local bodies in the district, vote count of six is on in Chitwan. UML is leading in Bharatpur Metropolis and four municipalities, namely, Ratnanagar, Khairahani, Rapti, and Madi, and at the ward level.

The NC is leading in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality. UML candidates Krishnaraj Adhikari and Shivahari Subedi have been elected ward chairpersons for Madi Municipality, wards 8 and 9 respectively. While UML swept Ward No 8, a CPN-MC candidate has been elected as member of Ward 9.

In Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, UML candidates scooped the ward chairs in two wards, while one candidate each was elected for the same position from NC and CPN-MC.

Likewise, while UML swept the boards in Rapti Municipality wards 4, and 5, the UML panel was elected from Khairahani Municipality Ward No 1.
