Siraha, May 30

The CPN-UML has finalised the names of candidates for various posts for the second phase of local level elections in Siraha. The party’s provincial committee meeting held in Bardibas of Mahottari yesterday picked its candidates for chief posts for seven municipalities and 10 rural municipalities of the district.

It has picked Muni Sahi for the post of mayor of Lahan Municipality, while Shyam Shrestha and Pradip Mahaseth have been named mayoral candidates for Golbazaar and Mirchaiya municipalities, from the party. Similarly, Ramawatar Yadav is the party’ mayoral candidate for Sukhipur Municipality.

Likewise, Rampukar Sah and Nabin Yadav have been picked as mayoral candidates for Kalyanpur Municipality and Siraha Municipality respectively. The party has also decided to field Kedarnath Yadav, Ugranarayan Yadav, Dev Narayan Sah, Surendra Yadav, Chandeswor Mandal, Satya Narayan Yadav, Ramdayal Mahato, Ramsharan Yadav, and Shuvnarayan Yadav for the posts of chair for Sakhuwankarkatti, Bhagawanpur, Laxmipur Patari, Nabarajopur, Arnamama, Bishnupur, Karjanha, Naraha and Aaurahi rural municipalities respectively.

UML Province 2 Publicity Department Chief Ashok Yadav said the party picked its candidates for almost all municipalities and rural municipalities.
