KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 19
The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli launched the Election Manifesto–2082 BS at the "Desh Pahila (Country First)" programme organised by the UML Central Election Mobilisation Committee. The document outlines the party's commitments, setting out specific goals and policy priorities.
The UML has stressed that securing electoral victory is essential to realise its guiding slogan, "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis: National Aspiration, Our Destination."
The manifesto places primary emphasis on good governance, development, employment generation, and social justice-areas the party says it advanced while in government but was unable to fully accomplish.
It highlights 11 immediate tasks, five fundamental priorities, and 25 key pledges.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Oli asserted that the UML, driven by a commitment to build rather than undermine state institutions, would lead the transformation of the country based on its past experience and governance record.
He further maintained that the party has consistently upheld national independence and sovereignty, adding that it would refrain from resorting to populism or political theatrics.
