Criminal trio flees

Birgunj, October 17:

Three criminals linked to a criminal from Bihar, Munna Sharma, fled from custody at the Zonal Police Office (ZPO), Birgunj, today. Twenty-two-year-old Nanda Kishor Yadav, of Harpatgunj VDC in Parsa district, 20-year-old Sikendra Yadav and Dharma Dev Mahato escaped from custody after cutting the fence at the ZPO compound, a police source said.

Police personnel responsible for the security of these criminals and members of the armed

police company have been taken into custody for investigation. Chief of the armed police company inspector Rajendra Babu Regmi has been kept under surveillance, the source said.

Chief of the ZPO senior superintendent of police Ramesh Shekhar Bajracharya said a three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident. Deputy superintendent of police at the ZPO, deputy superintendent of police at the District Police Office Shaurav Bikram Rana and police inspector Mohan Pariyar are members of the committee. Police have begun raiding possible hideouts to nab the escapees.
