All the crusher industries in Tanahun were found to be operating illegally.

Cottage Development Committee Office Tanahun Chief Narayan Prasad Dhakal said not a single crusher industry had met the criteria in the district.

Crusher industries have not renewed their registration for the past four years. “The industries are ignoring repeated calls to meet the standard for operation.” Dhakal said his office could not shut down the industries as they were part of a problem across the country.

Tanahun Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Pandit said licence for crusher industries would not be renewed if they failed to meet the criteria. “We have already decided to close industries that have failed to meet standards,” CDO Pandit stated.

District Monitoring and Coordination Committee Coordinator and District Coordination Committee Tanahun Chief Shantiraman Wagle said that an order was issued to shut the shutters of industries that had failed to meet the standard. “We shall come down heavily against  industries operating illegally,” said Wagle.
