CSRC distributes relief materials to over 3,000 quake-hit families of Sindhupalchok and Nuwakot

KATHMANDU: Community Self Reliance Center (CSRC) in coordination with HelpAge International Nepal has completed the first phase of distribution of relief materials to senior citizens of quake-affected families in Sindhupalchok and Nuwakot districts.

Altogether 3,004 families - having senior citizens - of two districts were provided with zinc sheets and construction materials to build temporary shelters.

Total 1,468 benefitted families were of Sindhupalchok and 1,536 of Nuwakot district.

Gorshyang and Ratmate areas of Nuwakot and Helambu, Mahankal, Ichok, Kiul and Talramarang areas of Sindhupalchok were covered in the camapign, according to a CSRC statement.

The CSRC, founded in 1993, claimed it has been at the forefront of land and agrarian rights campaign in Nepal. It has carried out projects of building temporary shelters for the earthquake-affected old people since August.

This project will distribute the second-phase relief soon, according to the organisation.
