CTEVT examinees clash with police

Dolakha, August 8

A clash erupted between police personnel and examinees over the tearing of an answer sheet at Jiri Technical School in Dolakha today.

The clash ensued after the answer sheet was torn when Supervisor Govind Gautam from CTEVT tried to snatch it from an examinee saying the candidate was copying the answer from a chit.

Irate students pelted stones.Police fired tear gas and baton-charged at examinees contain the situation.

Some people on both sides were injured.

Jiri Bazaar including Jiri School was tense throughout the day. Students resorted to vandalism of the school administration and examination hall.

Additional police personnel from Area Police office and District Police Office had to be sent to the
Jiri to avert an untoward situation.

Examinees claimed that examination invigilator Suresh Acharya and CTEVT’s Supervisor Govind Gautam had torn the answer sheet forcefully.

The school has halted the examination until further notice.
