Cultural Campaign against border encroachment
KATHMANDU: 'Save Border Joint Cultural Campaign, Nepal' has demanded the Indian government to immediately correct map, recently issued by it, encroaching Nepal's territory.
Organising a press conference in Kathmandu today, the campaign said that all artists are together on the issue of country's integrity and national independence.
On the occasion, campaign coordinator and central member of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Khagendra Rai urged all artists, living in and outside the country, to join the campaign to protect Nepali people's right to sovereignty.
Stressing the need that the government should take the diplomatic initiative to resolve border problem as there is border problem with India at more than 60 places, he said that he held talks with Indian artists over the border dispute.
The campaign would submit a memorandum to the government and all political parties to resolve the problem as well as launch a public awareness program. The campaign would submit a letter of protest at Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on November 25.
