DHANGADI: Kailali DAO continued with its curfew order in Tikapur and Dhangadi on Monday. The local administration has been imposing curfew in Tikapur and Dhangadi since the violence incident in Tikapur killed nine people including eight police personnel on August 24.

The DAO, however, has shortened the curfew time. Kailali DAO has been clamping curfew in Tikapur in the morning and Dhangadi during day time. DAO on Monday imposed curfew from 5:00am to 12 noon in Tikapur, while curfew was put in place in Dhangadi from 12 noon to 3:00pm. Assistant CDO Uday Bahadur Singh said normalcy was returning to Tikapur and Dhangadi.

Singh added that improvement in the security situation and adverse impact due to the prolonged curfew had led them to cut short the curfew period. DAO imposed curfew in 10 VDCs adjoining Tikapur from 5:00am to 5:00pm on Monday.
