CEC meeting of NC decides to forge electoral alliance for polls

KATHMANDU: The Central Executive Committee meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress decided to forge electoral alliance with the parties other than those involved in leftist alliance led by CPN-UML.

NC had called for the CEC meeting to discuss the latest political development in the country.

Former foreign minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said NC has decided to send Bimalendra Nidhi to the newly formed working committee for the upcoming elections.

According to Mahat, NC has decided to accommodate democratic, nationalist, progressive forces in broader front.

NC along with other parties held a meeting yesterday after UML, Naya Shakti Party Nepal and CPN-Maoist Centre forged an election alliance and decided to make one Communist Party Nepal after the elections.

NC held a meeting with Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic, and other parties and formed a 7-member working committee for the upcoming elections.

NC would send two members while other parties would send remaining members to the committee.
