CHITWAN: A cyclist died after being hit by a truck at Aaptari of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-1 of Chitwan district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Kumar Nepali (31) of Prithvi Narayan Municipality-9 in Gorkha district, informed the District Police Office.

According to police, the truck (Ba 3 Kha 1103) travelling to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa had hit the cyclist while the latter was trying to cross the road.

Nepali was injured after the hit and was rushed to the Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment yesterday itself.

Police are searching for the truck driver, who fled the scene after the accident.
