Cyclists reach Pokhara to collect fund

Pokhara, February 11:

Two youths, who have started a world cycling tour wishing for world peace, have arrived at Pokhara to collect fund for their journey.

Ajay Prakash Mishra, 23, and Bhagat Khatri had started journey on July 26, 2004.

They have been seeking financial help from different tourism related, industrial and other organisations of Pokhara from the past one week.

They said they would start their journey of Thailand if they managed to collect Rs 25, 000. They claimed that they would conclude their world tour in seventeen years.

They have already travelled different districts of Nepal, India and Bangladesh and said they had come to Pokhara to collect fund after they ran short of money.

The cyclist duo said they have been facing trouble in getting visas after the third cyclist of the team, Pawan Shree Mali, abandoned the tour.

They had started their tour from CPN-UML Office at Balkhu and Chitwan was their first destination. They travelled two countries with Rs 40,000 collected from the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Rs 35,000 from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality and Rs 25,000 from different organisations.
